Halloween! Spooky! Scary!

Well, at least my costume was scary/totally awesome. Rodeo played a show last night and the boys dressed up like the Bo Jackson 5. Very last minute, Zack and Jared gave me the idea to be Penguin Stefani (pen-gwen stefani, get it?). The van ride was pretty awesome, including Zack's awful driving and me duct taping pillows to Kurt (football pads). We also had some great madlibs and snacks (Flipz and Cheetos). Jess took some pics from the van ride. Here are some sweet pics from the evening:

I think I still have two more parties to attend, so we'll see what I can come up with for costumes! I had originally wanted to be Annie Oakley, but I don't have much time to get a costume ready. Plus, I have a cold and only want to sleep all day! Hope you are feeling great and come up with some great costume ideas! Happy Halloween! Watch out for ghosts!

Farmer's Market

Last night Jess, Tara, Jared and I watched a whole lot of Glee (like maybe 7 episodes?). I sang all the songs and Jared made a lot of snarky comments. What a great night!
This morning Tara and I visited the Farmer's Market here in Bloomington. I love that place! There are so many delicious things to choose from! I walked away with some apples, sweet potatoes, and bacon (made from very happy animals they assured me).

One of the greatest things about the market is all the entertainment! Today there were cloggers dancing to a banjo! It was wonderful.

So many lovely colors!
This is my favorite booth because the apples are amazing. This is Jess's favorite booth because of the Amish man selling the apples

I love Saturday mornings at the Farmer's Market! Afterwards, Tara and I went to the Walmarts store to find some sweats for her Halloween costume. Unfortunately they didn't have the right ones, but I did get a vacuum cleaner!! Hooray! Now my house can be clean. Well, hopefully you have better luck with your Halloween costume than we did. Have a great weekend and don't forget to eat some bacon made from happy animals. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and see my new vacuum cleaner!

Workin' on it!

I've been looking back at my To-Do list that was made several weeks ago... I'm proud to announce I have taken care of 2 items (tights and camera) and am working on some others (bicycle and tattoo). I'm also buying a vacuum cleaner because mine is terrible. I can't remember if that was on my list, but I'm adding it now. So I'm working on 3 items. My friend Samantha and I have scheduled our tattoo weekend and plan on getting our tattoos together. It's going to be great! Jess is supposed to go too, but she might chicken out. We'll see.

Today I almost said the F-word at work. That's not true, I actually said it. Thankfully there were no clients around to hear me cursing. I also said it in the car yesterday, driving up to class with Jessica. We were stopped at a red light and the guy in the car next to us heard me yelling and was staring at me. Yikes! I think this means I need a slow and easy weekend! And I need to watch some serious Gossip Girl! Maybe some musicals, too, to lighten the mood. I hope your week has been less full of curse words, and that your weekend is relaxing. Also, I promise to work on my grammatical skills. I realize I've had some major grammar issues lately, which is a little outrageous because I'm in grad school and I should know how to use words correctly.

P.S. If you're into witchcraft and wizardry, and want to attend the midnight showing of Harry Potter with Tara and me.. let me know. We need to get our tickets soon! It's coming!!

It's been a while...

Sorry I've been away for so long. Last week my father's best friend was in a motorcycle accident and passed away. I went home for a couple days to attend the services and be with my family. It's been a really busy week, trying to catch up on work and homework. Rodeo played an awesome youth group show on Saturday night in Fort Wayne, which also added to the busy-ness. After the show we went to a haunted hotel in Huntington, where I screamed my lungs out and probably made Kurt very uncomfortable with the amount of times I grabbed him from behind and buried my face into his back so I couldn't see the creepy people dressed as ghouls. I stayed the night in Fairmount, had lunch with the family, and then rushed back to Bloomington. I've also had some car trouble, which has caused me to drive 3 different cars this week. In all the madness and rush, my room has become a terrible mess. I thought I'd share some pictures with you, to prove that I haven't justbeen neglecting my dear 13 readers:

Maybe I should have warned you: these photos are not for the faint of heart! Or for the very organized.

Mostly I just wanted to show you that I GOT A DIGITAL CAMERA!!!! And I really couldn't think of anything else to take pictures of.... my entire house kind of looks like this right now. So, I hope your week wasn't quite as busy as mine... and that your home looks better than mine! Now that we've got the camera, I'm hoping we can get back into the fashion blog attempts. Hears to hoping and screaming in haunted houses!

Lookin' good girl

I like colors. And turtles.

This was the day before I got my hair trimmed, and boy was my hair everywhere! I couldn't take it, so I put it in a ponytail. I felt like I needed some color, since my whole outfit was grey and black, so I pulled out this blue ribbon. Thankfully I got my hair did on Friday and I'm lookin' much better now. Obviously I'm still in the hunt for a camera, but it is on my list of things to do and I'm getting closer to completing this goal every day! Hope your weekend is full of magical colors and hair trimmings.

X-Treme Layers

Fall is in the air! And you know what that means? Mondo layering! I've always been really good at wearing too many layers and I think not wearing layers actually causes me anxiety. So, in order to preserve my mental health, I will continue with this trend forever and ever amen. Today I didn't feel like being super fancy (I also didn't get out of bed until 8:10 - which is late!), so I settled for jeans and mixing some great colors. The sweater looks very red in the picture, but it's more orange-y than red. My hair is getting too long and needs trimmed (and re-colored - my roots are showing big time), and mostly I just want it out of my face. Today I pulled it back in a little pony and added this wrap:

The coffee I made this morning turned out to be terrible, which gave me an excuse to run down to Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte! The girl working the drive thru told me she really liked the colors in my outfit (this is why I love Starbucks, because they love me too).

This weekend I participated in an event for the recovery community, in which I sat in a dunk tank and people from the program paid to dunk me in the water. It was a little chilly outside, but thankfully the water was warm and I didn't die. I told my lady clients if I got pneumonia they would have to visit me in the hospital, bring me Kit Kat bars, and sing me a song. They all agreed! Fortunately, I didn't get sick. I'm still hoping they might give me a Kit Kat and sing me a song. I'll let you know how things go. Please enjoy this lovely fall weather, and don't forget, you can never have too many layers!
